In 2020, the Community Info Coop held a number of on-background one-on-one and group conversations about the Knight Foundation, asking journalism and civic leaders to share their experiences with the organization and their vision for its evolution. Issues raised included the need for more accountability reporting on the Knight Foundation, specifically reviewing its affiliation with far-right extremists and white supremacy.
